Rehabilitation Services For Dogs and Cats

Whether your furry friend is recovering from surgery, needs help managing a chronic condition, or could benefit from a little extra exercise, cat and dog rehab can make a world of difference. At Riverbark Veterinary Hospital, we have a dedicated specialist for your pet's rehabilitation needs.

What Is Pet Rehab?

Veterinary rehabilitation is a type of vet care that helps pets recover from injuries, surgeries, or health conditions that affect their movement. We focus on exercises, therapies, and other treatments to improve their strength, reduce pain, and improve their mobility. Think of it as physical therapy for pets, but customized to their unique needs. Rehabilitation can help your pet heal faster, stay active, and enjoy a better quality of life

Cat and Dog Hydrotherapy

Water is an incredible rehabilitation tool. Our hydrotherapy treadmill uses the natural buoyancy of water to reduce stress on your pet's joints while allowing them to move freely. This low-impact exercise is ideal for:

  • Pets recovering from surgery
  • Managing arthritis or other joint conditions
  • Improving strength and cardiovascular health
  • Assisting pets with weight management

Our pet hydrotherapy sessions take place in a controlled environment, ensuring your pet feels comfortable and safe.

Pre & Post-Surgical Fitness

If your pet has an upcoming surgery or is in recovery, starting the rehabilitation process should be your top priority. Surgery can be tough on pets, but proper fitness training before and after the procedure can speed up recovery and improve outcomes.

Our pre-surgical fitness programs focus on strengthening muscles, improving range of motion, and preparing your pet for a smoother surgery.

After surgery, our team provides tailored post-surgical fitness plans to help pets rebuild strength and mobility safely. Whether it’s a torn ACL or hip surgery, we’re here to guide your pet back to feeling their best self.

Dog & Cat Diet & Nutrition

Making sure your pet’s body has the support it needs to heal and thrive is another big part of pet rehab. Our diet and nutrition services are designed to complement your pet’s specific rehabilitation plan:

  • Custom fitness plans
  • Nutritional guidance
  • Massage Therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Tens Therapy
  • and more!

Our team will work with you to create a plan that suits your pet’s unique needs, helping them feel their best inside and out.

CPR & First Aid Classes

Emergencies happen when you least expect them, and knowing what to do can make all the difference. That’s why we offer pet CPR and first aid classes for pet parents. In our hands-on training, you will learn about:

  • CPR
  • Rescue Breathing
  • Shock Management
  • Bleeding
  • Injury Assessment
